“Together”

Tell me that you’ve seen me.
Tell me you’ve seen anywhere I’ve  been.
Listen to the bees around you. Hear the story
For ever told and walk across and buzz me in.

“Oak Tree”

Oak tree, bring to us evening sun and revelry,
With graduation caps or bridesmaid’s innocent
Beauty, a burning June fire, and cousins, and
Insects buzzing beautifully. Bring us a string

Of white electric light, our backs reclining but
Not too tired for dancing, bluegrass stirring like
Vanilla ice cream, and girls screaming. Oak
Tree, bring to us summer’s rare light, solstice

Approaching, many moons before us roaming.
And as it becomes late, and few now are standing,
And stars are doing their appearing, and melodies
Weave between your leaves, let quiet weather do
our receiving, and clean our memories...
